PECMHF hits hole-in-one for local healthcare

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, RE/MAX Quinte Ltd. and Quinte-area golfers all hit a hole-in-one for local healthcare.

The PECMHF announced the 11th Annual Teeing Up Fore Health Care Golf Classic, held June 16 at the Picton Golf and Country Club, raised a net total of $47,727.13 in support of the Back the Build Campaign for the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

With this year’s success, the tournament has now generated more than $500,000 over its 11-year history, helping ensure residents and visitors have access to exceptional care in Prince Edward County.

Since 1998, RE/MAX Quinte Ltd., its sales representatives and the Teeing Up Fore Health Care Golf Classic have contributed a remarkable $726,686.56 to the PECMH Foundation. This cumulative support includes generous contributions made by RE/MAX sales representatives through their commissions, demonstrating nearly three decades of commitment to strengthening local health care.

“This tournament is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together around a shared purpose,” said Briar Boyce, Associate Director, Development with the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Every sponsor, golfer, volunteer and donor played a part in this year’s success, and we are sincerely grateful for their commitment to helping build our new hospital.”

Sean McKinney, Broker with RE/MAX Quinte Ltd., said the event’s longevity is a testament to the community’s commitment to local healthcare.

“For 11 years, this tournament has brought together businesses, community members and volunteers who believe in investing in the future of healthcare close to home. We’re proud to continue partnering with the Foundation and thank everyone who helped make this year’s tournament another success.”

Re/Max Sales Representative and long-time committee member Herb Pliwischkies reflected on the tournament’s lasting community impact.

“Crossing the half-million-dollar mark is a remarkable milestone, but what means even more is the incredible community that has grown around this event over the past 11 years,” said Pliwischkies.

“That spirit of generosity and collaboration is what will help carry the Back the Build Campaign across the finish line.”
