There was a large police presence in Napanee on Wednesday night.
Lennox and Addington County OPP posted on social media at 8:17 pm that they had an increased police presence around Dundas St. West and York St. in Napanee, as officers responded to a reported disturbance.
Officials say there was no threat to public safety, but they were asking people to avoid the area
Drivers were also being asked to not pick-up hitchhikers.
They later cleared the scene around 10:40 pm, adding that the investigation was ongoing and no further information was being released at that time.
