BIOGRAPHIES
Dr. Bailey Brant
Dr. Bailey Brant will join the Primary Care Partnership program after completing his Family Medicine residency at Queen’s University in 2028. Holding a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto, and both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience from Queen’s University, Dr. Brant has chosen Quinte West as the location of his future family practice to deliver comprehensive care to the growing community.
Raised in Oshawa, Ontario, practicing in Quinte West marks a meaningful return to Dr. Brant’s cultural roots due to the proximity to his First Nation community, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Connecting with patients who identify as Indigenous and providing culturally relevant care and support in their healing journey are core passions Brant is making a part of his medical career.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Brant is an avid runner and weightlifter who enjoys spending time on the water, hiking, playing hockey and connecting with family.
Siddarth Varatharajan
Siddarth Varatharajan will join the Primary Care Partnership program after completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2032. Prior to pursuing medical studies, Varatharajan earned both a Master’s of Health Science degree in Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization and an Honours Bachelor of Health Science degree from McMaster University.
Though his studies took him abroad, his Quinte West roots run deep. Varatharajan’s family owns and operates a local convenience store in Frankford, Ontario.
Varatharajan believes that a collaborative approach for physicians to set up and grow alongside a supportive network of healthcare partners will provide patients with the best care possible. For Varatharajan, joining Quinte West’s Primary Care Partnership is about building a strong, sustainable future for healthcare in his community.
Outside of medicine, Varatharajan is an outdoor adventurer, photographer and a former varsity basketball player eager to return to his home region of Quinte West.
