FUNDRAISING UPDATE (4 pm.)- More than $46,300 in donations has rolled in.
Wednesday will be for the kids in Quinte.
The sixth annual Kids Can’t Wait Radiothon returns to local airwaves, including on Cool 100 and Hits 95.5 to benefit The Children’s Foundation.
The goal will be to clear the $70,000 benchmark set last year.
All funds raised will go toward sports, arts, and recreation programming, including summer camps for children with financial challenges.
The Radiothon will unite nine radio stations across Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward County—amplifying both a strong regional presence and deeply local impact.
This collective effort ensures that children in every corner of the community feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Other businesses involved in the efforts include McDonalds donating $0.50 per coffee, Chilangos donating $2 per taco, and the Dugout donating proceeds from rib sales.
Third-party fundraisers will also be going on into the evening. It was stated sometime on Thursday a final total will be revealed.
Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation, Ingrid Moore stated fundraising is only a small piece of the puzzle.
“Every dollar raised on the Radiothon goes directly to helping local children thrive—whether it’s access to programs, experiences, or critical supports that shape their futures,” Moore stated.
“For 12 hours nine local radio stations will be sharing powerful stories – from youth whose lives have been touched by our programs, from donors explaining why they give, and from Board members and volunteers reflecting on their experiences. It’s a reminder of the impact we can make when we come together for the kids.”
Moore also said that while today’s event is also about bringing awareness.
“The biggest question I get when I say ‘The Children’s Foundation’ is ‘What do you do?’. Through the Radiothon today, we are able to talk about all the different programs we have for kids in our community,”
“It’s about our community and about how we support kids from birth all the way through. From buying cribs and carseats to helping them with college scholarships and bursaries. We support kids in every area of the community or for parents who are finding things tough. We will do our very best to help everybody.”
Moore says that if anyone is interested in making a donation, they can call The Children’s Foundation at any time or go online.
