Prince Edward County OPP has made an arrest and are seeking more information on several recent break and enters.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and individual at a residence on Whattams Road.
The complainant observed a male on the property and believed property inside the vehicle may have been linked to a previous theft.
Police located and arrested the individual without incident.
As a result of the investigation, officers recovered several items believed to be stolen, including power tools and other property.
Investigators subsequently linked the accused to several break and enter incidents in the area, resulting in multiple criminal charges.
Darren Gray, age 31 of Loyalist Township, has been charged with:
Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence (three counts)
Mischief Under $5,000 (three counts)
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet reported thefts or break and enters. Anyone who has experienced a recent break and enter, theft, or is missing property and has not reported it to police is encouraged to contact the Prince Edward County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Residents are reminded to secure doors and windows, properly store valuables, and report suspicious activity immediately.
