An investigation has led to a Deseronto resident being arrested and facing drug and driving related charges.
Friday, just after 1:00 p.m. the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, made an arrest on Dundas Street in Napanee.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed on a residence on Green Street in Deseronto. As a result of the arrest and warrant execution, police located 10 grams of suspected fentanyl and just under $700 in Canadian currency. Officers also seized a cell phone, scales and materials associated with drug trafficking.
William Labelle, 45, was charged with:
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 6.
