Focused Patrols blitz completed in Belleville, Quinte West

Another successful Focused Patrols blitz in Belleville and Quinte West has been completed.

Last Wednesday, the Ontario Provincial Police East Region Highway Safety Division, members of the Ministry of Transportation enforcement unit, Quinte West OPP and Belleville Police Service conducted patrols focusing on Commercial Motor Vehicles in both municipalities.

The operation resulted in the following:

·        29 Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Inspections were conducted. 27 on Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) vehicles / 2 on non-CVOR vehicles

·        11 vehicles placed Out-of-Service (38-per cent of those inspected)

·        30 charges laid. 47-per cent of those due to registration, daily inspections and vehicle maintenance.

·        One plate removed/seized for unauthorized use

Officers from the OPP HSD, MTO, Quinte West Detachment and the Belleville Police Service are committed to ensuring the roads in Quinte Region are safe for everyone that uses them.
