An early morning domestic dispute led to charges being laid against a Belleville man from this past spring.
After 2 a.m. Thursday, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end, where it was reported that a verbal argument had occurred between a male and a female.
Upon further investigation, it was learned that in March of 2026, the male had physically assaulted the female by shoving her to the ground.
A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with spousal assault.
He was released with a court date in September.
