Three people, including a Belleville resident, face charges after drug searches and seizures on Wednesday.
Members of the Belleville Police Service Drugs, Intelligence and Street Crime Unit executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants in the City of Belleville with the assistance of the Belleville Police K9 and Emergency Response Unit.
One of the warrants was at a local hotel in the Belleville area, where police arrested two males from the Greater Toronto Area. Both males were taken into custody without incident.
Daequane Bennett, a 20-year-old Toronto man and Shayne Forrest, 23 of Brampton, face charges including possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Proceeds of Crime under $5000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police seized $1,440 in Canadian currency, 634.6 grams of cocaine – roughly 22 ounces and three cellphones in the search.
Shortly after, police arrested a third individual at a local establishment before executing a search warrant at a downtown location.
Police seized $980 in Canadian Currency, one cellphone, 5.6 grams of Cocaine and one gram of Fentanyl
Christy Fry, a 34-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with possession of Cocaine and Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5000
All three were held in custody for bail hearings.
