The City of Belleville is advising residents that the Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool will be closed for the remainder of today, Thursday, July 16, due to poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for much of Ontario, including Belleville.
The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre remains open, and the following swim times will continue as scheduled:
· Public Swim: 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.
· Lane Swim: 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
· Public Swim: 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.
· Lane Swim: 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
The City says the health and safety of residents, visitors and staff remains its top priority. City staff will continue to monitor air quality conditions and assess operations for Friday, July 17.
