A Quinte Red Devils AAA product is changing colours after being one of the top picks in this past weekend’s NHL Entry Draft.
Maddox Dagenais was drafted 16th overall in the first round by the St. Louis Blues on Friday night in Buffalo.
The Montreal native was a point-per-game player this past season, notching 62 points in his sophomore campaign with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.
He is the son of former NHLer Pierre Dagenais.
Also, fellow Red Devil grad JC Lemieux was invited to Ottawa Senators development camp after being undrafted Friday and Saturday.
The 18-year-old forward split last season between the Windsor Spitfires and Sudbury Wolves, amassing 43 points in 56 games.
