Prince Edward County Council is taking steps to form an Economic Development Task Team aimed at addressing challenges facing the local economy.

In a motion introduced by Councillor Chris Braney, Council directed municipal staff to prepare terms of reference for the new team. The proposed task team would bring together key local stakeholders, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Director of Visit the County, the Executive Director of the Bay of Quinte Marketing Board, leadership from the Prince Edward County Federation of Agriculture and the agri-tourism sector, as well as members of Council and municipal staff.

The motion passed following a brief debate and terms of reference are expected to come before Council at its upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting on October 23.
