An investigation into a theft of a vehicle in Trent Hills produced an arrest over this past weekend.
Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m., Northumberland OPP received a report that a person known to the complainant had taken a pickup truck without consent from an address on Northwoods Drive in Trent Hills.
A description of the individual and vehicle was provided.
The following day, Sunday, officers were advised that the individual had returned to the residence with the vehicle but was no longer welcome.
It was also reported that a quantity of construction tools had been removed from the vehicle and were unaccounted for.
The individual was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
A 34-year-old female Trent Hills has been charged with:
· Take motor vehicle without consent
· Theft over $5,000 from a motor vehicle
· Operation while prohibited
· Fail to comply with undertaking
· Fail to comply with release order
The accused will not be identified to protect the identity of the victim.
Meanwhile, OPP is still on the lookout for a stolen passenger vehicle in Brighton from earlier in the month.
On June 6, shortly before 4:00 a.m., OPP responded to a report of the stolen vehicle from a residence on Elgin Street West.
Despite patrols in the area, the vehicle was not located. The investigation remains ongoing.
