A chilly night in the Quinte Region could have farmers and gardeners scrambling to protect their plants.
A Frost Advisory has been issued for a widespread area which includes Brighton, Quinte West, Belleville, Prince Edward County and Napanee.
Temperatures are expected to drop to near zero degrees Celsius tonight (Wednesday) into early Thursday morning.
Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas. People are being advised to cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas, and to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
