The U14 AAA Michell Belleville Spirits closed out their season this past weekend with a strong performance in Division 5 at the OBA Ontario Cup, held in Ottawa.

Entering the tournament fresh off an EOBA Division 1 silver medal finish, the Spirits carried their momentum into Ontario Cup play, finishing the round-robin portion of the tournament as the top seed while delivering some of their best basketball of the season.

Belleville opened the tournament with a dramatic 55–54 victory over the DC Bulldogs, erasing a five-point deficit in the final 25 seconds with six unanswered points to secure the win. The Spirits followed that effort with a decisive 57–37 victory over GCBA in their second matchup.

In their third game, Belleville once again showcased resilience, rallying from a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat the Oxford Attack 60–59 on a last-second score.

The gold medal game saw the Spirits face the Brampton Warriors. Despite a competitive effort through four quarters, Belleville fell 74–60 against a strong opponent, earning a silver medal finish to conclude the tournament.

Team officials say with a season defined by growth, perseverance, and development, the U14 AAA Michell Belleville Spirits have continued to establish themselves as a competitive program within Ontario youth basketball.
