One man seriously injured in early-morning tent fire in Belleville

One person was seriously injured following a tent fire early this morning in Belleville.

Just before 1 am, Belleville Police responded alongside Belleville Firefighters and Hastings Quinte Paramedics to a reported tent fire in the city’s east end.

Upon police arrival, Belleville Firefighters were providing medical assistance to a 53-year-old Belleville man, who was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

He was later taken to a Toronto hospital.

Members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation.
