Man wanted on first-degree murder charges arrested in Belleville in major drug bust

A drug bust in Belleville on Wednesday resulted in charges against three people in Belleville, including one local and one person wanted for first-degree murder.

Members of the Belleville Police Intelligence and Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of Belleville Emergency Response Unit, Kingston Emergency Response Unit and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Kingston branch, executed four Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrants at an apartment building located in Belleville’s east end.

As a result of police investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

Mohammed Abdullahi, 37-year-old Toronto man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Proceeds of Crime under $5000
  • Obstruct Police

Officers also learned Abdullahi had an outstanding Toronto Police Service arrest warrant for 1st-degree murder and he was arrested additionally on the strength of the warrant.

George Andrews, 33-year-old Pickering man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drug
  • Proceeds of Crime under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Robert Tandy, 53-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Proceeds of Crime under $5000

As a result of the search the following was seized:

  • 3 grams of Cocaine
  • 4 Oxycodone pills
  • 40cc of unknown liquid in a syringe
  • $3,316 in Canadian currency
  • 5 cell phones
