Drug bust leads to two people charged in Port Hope

Two individuals were arrested following the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the Town of Port Hope.

On April 30 as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Cobourg and the Municipality of Port Hope, members of the Cobourg Police Service and Port Hope Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureaus, with assistance from both services’ Uniform Patrol units, executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Peter Street in Port Hope.

As a result of the investigation, police seized the following:
• 62 grams of fentanyl
• 31 grams of cocaine
• 8 grams of methamphetamine
• Clonazepam pills
• Weigh scales
• Packaging materials
The total street value of the drugs seized was approximately $13,000.

56-year-old Terri Lawrence and 61-year-old Robert Lawrence were charged with the following:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I substance – fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I substance – methamphetamine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule III substance
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule IV substance
• Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
• Failure to comply with undertaking

Terri Lawrence was additionally charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I substance – cocaine

Both were held in custody for a bail hearing.
