On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 6:15 a.m., City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck hauling a trailer and a SUV on Highway 7, west of Emily Park Road.

As a result of the collision, the driver and lone occupant of the SUV, a 57-year-old female from Peterborough was pronounced deceased at the scene. No injuries were reported for the driver or passenger of the pick up truck.
