An auto body shop in Thurlow’s industrial park was lost in a major fire on Saturday in Belleville.

Belleville fire responded to a fully involved structure fire in the 100 block of parks drive, just north of Walmart in the industrial area at 10:54 am.

An auto body shop was housed in the structure. It was completely destroyed. There were no injuries.

All five Belleville stations responded to provide water tanker support.

Belleville Police blocked off Parks Drive for several hours.

The fire was out by 3 pm but the cause is unknown. An investigator with the Belleville Fire Department has responded to the scene.
