Assault, impaired charges laid over the weekend in L&A County

Lennox and Addington County OPP made arrests in separate assault and impaired driving incidents during the weekend.

Just after 7 p.m. Friday, officers were notified of an assault complaint in Loyalist Township and a suspect returning to the location was arrested during an investigation.

36-year-old Aleena Zylstra of Kingston faces a list of charges which including five counts of uttering death threats, two counts of assault, three counts of assaulting a peace officer and one count each of resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with a demand.

Then, just before 5 p.m. Sunday, L&A County OPP was called by a community member regarding a vehicle in the ditch on Bath Road, in Loyalist Township.

Following an investigation, the driver was located nearby and arrested.

51-year-old James Krahn of Loyalist Township faces charges of impaired and dangerous driving, failing to comply with a demand and breach of probation.

Both will appear in Napanee court and have lost their licenses for 90 days.
