UPDATE -The investigation has concluded into the structure fire on Saturday, April 25 at 262 River Road in Belleville.
The fire was determined to be electrical, contained to a room over the attached garage; there were no injuries and damage is estimated at approximately $100,000.00.
Belleville Fire & Emergency Services is reminding everyone not to use electrical appliances with damaged cords and to ensure they are listed to be used in Canada.
Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are installed and working properly on every level of your home and outside all sleeping areas.
ORIGINAL POST ON SATURDAY – Belleville firefighters made quick work of a house fire in Thurlow on Saturday morning.
Crews responded to a fire at 2:07 am in the 200 block of River Road.
Firefighters quick response kept the damage to a rear upper storey bedroom of the home.
There were no injuries.
The investigation is underway to determine a cause.
A full damage estimate is not yet available.
