Assault charge laid in PEC

An assault charge has been laid after an intimate partner violence investigation in Prince Edward County.

A domestic dispute had been reported to PEC OPP at approximately 10:30 P.M. on Monday.

Officers completed their investigation and one individual was charged with assault.

The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Picton Court at a later date.
