The U14 AAA Michell Belleville Spirits Basketball team captured silver at the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association (EOBA) U14 AAA Division 1 Championships this past weekend.

The championships were hosted by the Belleville Spirits Boys Basketball Club at Nicholson Catholic College and featured the top five U14 AAA teams from across Eastern Ontario. After finishing third in round-robin play, the Spirits advanced to the gold medal game with a commanding 75–59 semifinal victory over OSBA.

In the championship final, the Spirits faced the top-seeded and undefeated ONL Kanji. The game remained competitive throughout, with the Spirits battling until the final minute before narrowly falling 80–77.

The Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) Ontario Cup, taking place in Ottawa from May 1–3, will mark the team’s final competition of the season.
