The Quinte Rowing Club (QRC) is marking a major milestone in 2026 as it celebrates its 40th
anniversary—four decades of fostering athletic participation, community spirit, and a deep
connection to the Bay of Quinte.
To honour this milestone, the Quinte Rowing Club will host a special info day:
– Open House & Learn-to-Row Info Day on Saturday April 18 at 10am-noon. Located at the
Quinte Rowing Club at 35 Keegan Parkway in Belleville.
Founded in 1986, the club began as a small group of passionate rowers determined to bring the
sport to the region. Today, QRC has grown into a vibrant organization offering programs for all
Quinte residents including youth and adults, and newcomers discovering rowing for the first time.
The anniversary year highlights not only the club’s rich history but also its ongoing commitment to
accessibility, teamwork, and healthy living.
Over the past 40 years, QRC athletes have competed at local, provincial, national, and international
levels, earning medals and recognition while proudly representing the Quinte region. Beyond
competition, the club has played a vital role in community recreation, offering learn-to-row
programs, school partnerships, and inclusive opportunities for people of all ages.
“Reaching our 40th anniversary is a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, coaches,
athletes, and supporters,” said Carol Greiner, President of the Quinte Rowing Club. “This club has
always been about more than rowing—it’s about building confidence, friendships, and a sense of
belonging on and off the water.”
