The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, at approximately 5:25 p.m., a traffic complaint on Front Street, Trenton, led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may have been impaired.
As a result of the investigation, charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC), the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).
Hailey GREEN, age 24, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Dangerous operation
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Careless driving
- Fail to have insurance card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 28, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
