TMFRC to benefit from funds raised at McHappy Day next month

The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre is looking extra forward to next month after receiving a great honour on Thursday.

It was announced that the organization has been selected to be the local beneficiary of this year’s McHappy Day, taking place on May 6, 2026, alongside Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the McDonald’s Canada – Trenton locations.

McHappy Day is a national fundraising event led by McDonald’s Canada, where portions of the proceeds from every purchase support families with sick and injured children and each year they choose a local non-profit organization to help make a meaningful impact.

This year, funds raised at the Trenton locations will directly support programs, services, and supports for military and veteran children and youth. When military families face unique or unexpected challenges associated with the military lifestyle, the Trenton MFRC responds to challenges military families face through the development of innovative programs and proactive, responsive services.

TMFRC executive director Tamara Kleinschmidt stated the organization is thrilled to be recognized in this fashion.

“At the Trenton MFRC, we see firsthand the strength and resilience of military youth. This generous support will allow us to continue offering vital programs, services, and community connections that enhance their well-being and quality of life,” she stated.

“We are excited to partner with our local McDonald’s restaurants and Ronald McDonald House Charities for this incredible initiative,” added Linda Blanchette, Board Chair.

“We encourage everyone in our community to come out on May 6, enjoy their favourite McDonald’s menu items, and help make a difference for families who need it most.”

Community members can support McHappy Day by visiting participating McDonald’s locations, purchasing menu items, or contributing through various fundraising initiatives taking place
throughout the day.
