Quinte West building stats for March

The Quinte West building numbers are continuing to trend lower through the first three months of 2026.

38 permits were issued in March, as noted by the municipality’s building department, lower than the 43 issued in March of last year.

However, construction value was higher at $9.8 million, thanks in part to a $5 million permit issued for the Hospice Quinte facility on Old Highway 2 in Bayside.

Year-to-date, the number of permits and construction value is well below last year in the first quarter at 89 compared to 124 and $15.7 million compared to $18.2 million.
