Giveaway Days return in Belleville and Quinte West this weekend

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 16, 2025 | 9:26 AM

A reminder to residents of Belleville and Quinte West that you can give unwanted household items a new home this weekend during Giveaway Days.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, people in those municipalities can put items in good condition out on the curb to reduce landfill waste.

Appropriate items to give away include gently used DVDs, books, furniture, home decor, small appliances, kitchen items and construction materials.

Printable “free” signs can be found on the City of Quinte West and the City of Belleville’s Giveaway Days webpages for participants to use.

The Consumer Product Safety Directorate of Health Canada advises against giving away cribs, car seats, strollers, bath seats and playpens to avoid unsafe use.
