Impaired charges laid against two locals in QW crash

The Quinte West Detachment of the OPP has laid numerous charges following a collision that occurred in Trenton.

Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, the OPP Emergency Response Team, the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME), Quinte West Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision on Marmora Street in Quinte West, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired.

During the investigation, the same driver and their passenger were charged with the following offences:

Andrea Pelrine, age 29, from Trent Hills, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

Perry Douglas, age 38, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
