A local product is headed to the NCAA Regional Semifinals after a thrilling win over the weekend.
Belleville’s Trevor Hoskin and his Merrimack College Warriors clinched the Hockey East Conference Championship by a 2-1 final over the UCONN Huskies in front of a large crowd at TD Garden, home of the NHL’s Boston Bruins.
Hoskin picked up an assist in the history-making win for the Warriors, their first ever conference title and first appearance in the NCAA’s Frozen Four.
They will play the North Dakota Fighting Hawks in the Regional Semis at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Hoskin notched 35 points in 33 games during the NCAA regular season.
