Red Devils teams compete for red hats this weekend

Three Quinte Red Devils AAA teams are vying for the coveted red hats in Newmarket this weekend.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association Championships start Friday and run through Sunday, with U10, U12 and U14 squads all in action.

The U10s round robin consists of games versus the Barrie Jr. Colts at 2:45 p.m., 10:15 a.m. Saturday against the Niagara North Stars and 5:45 p.m. versus the Burlington Eagles.

The U12s have already started off strong with a 3-1 win over the Whitby Wildcats and return to the ice at 5:3o p.m. versus Burlington, before suiting up for a 1 p.m. start against the Southern Tier Admirals on Saturday.

The U14s get started at 3 p.m. Friday versus Barrie and play two games at 11 a.m. against the Hamilton Steel and 5 p.m. on Saturday, opposing the Halton Hurricanes.

The Semifinals and Championship Game in all age groups go on Sunday.
