Pirates double Huskies Thursday night

The Picton Pirates gritted out a 4-2 win over the Frankford Huskies in PJHL action Thursday.

Gerrit Kempers, Cole Stevenson, Keenan Wiles and Luc Amat all scored for Picton.

Jakob Gardner and Owen Findlay added three assists each, with Nolan Lane and Nick Parodo both seeing time in net in the win.

Former Pirate Keagan Carr notched both Huskies goals.

The Pirates are in Port Hope to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, while the Huskies host Trent Hills at 7 p.m. Monday night.

Friday in local hockey, the Newmarket Hurricanes make their first visit to Wellington to take on the Dukes, the Trenton Golden Hawks welcome Mississauga, the Napanee Raiders host Port Hope and the Trent Hills Thunder entertain Amherstview.

All games begin at 7:30 p.m.
