Nicholson Catholic College students are planning a walkout tomorrow to protest the provincial government’s changes to funding for the Ontario Student Assistance Program.
Doug Ford’s government has recently changed the OSAP program to make 75 per cent of the money available to students in the form of loans and 25 per cent in the form of grants.
Currently, 85 per cent of the money is in grant form and only 15 per cent loans.
This, student organizers say, could put their educational futures at risk.
The rally is slated for Tuesday, March 10 at 12:30 pm at Belleville’s Market Square.
