Belleville Police made an arrest of a city man after he was found to be in possession of a firearm.

Officers attended a residence for police assistance on Friday and reportedly discovered a firearm that was being improperly stored.

A 25-year-old man faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in April.
