Man arrested in Belleville following incident involving knife

Belleville Police have charged a city man following an incident involving a knife over the weekend.

On February 28th (Saturday afternoon) around 3:45 p.m. Belleville Police responded a residence in the city’s north end regarding a report of threats being made.

Upon arrival, it was reported that a male had woken up to find another male threatening to kill him while holding a knife.

As a result of investigation, an 81-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats

He was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released.
