Pirates beat Panthers on third period comeback

Colby Leaver’s goal with 2:36 to play capped off a third period comeback for the Picton Pirates in a 3-2 victory over the Port Hope Panthers.

Cole Stevenson and Luc Amat scored four-and-a-half minutes apart to set the stage for Leaver’s winner.

Cole Mulder assisted on two, with Keenan Wiles, Gerrit Kempers and Ben Smith picking up single helpers.

Nick Parodo earned the win with 28 saves, Picton’s fourth in a row.

The Pirates are home again Thursday to meet the Trent Hills Thunder at 7:30 p.m.

The Napanee Raiders visit Amherstview at 7:30 p.m. in the PJHL Tod Division’s lone Sunday contest.

Also in the OJHL, the Wellington Dukes host Burlington at 1:30 p.m.
