Hawks for Healthcare a rousing success

By Brock Ormond Feb 23, 2026 | 2:42 PM

The hockey community and local fans and supporters of healthcare in Quinte all have a lot to be proud of following an outstanding fundraising initiative last week.

Last Monday, the Trenton Golden Hawks hosted their annual “Hawks for Healthcare” game in support of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena during the Family Day weekend, where the Hawks faced the Wellington Dukes.

Fans filled the arena and helped raise $4,609.60. The Foundation collected donations during the game and auctioned off jerseys worn by Hawks players that night.

Team Christina Charbonneau of Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty offered their support by sponsoring the jerseys. Quinte Custom Promo provided the player name bars.

“The Trenton Golden Hawks organization is incredibly proud to stand alongside the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. Seeing nearly a thousand fans pack ‘The Dunc’ to raise over $4,500 is a testament to the strength of Quinte West,” Golden Hawks director of business operations Tracey Legault-Davis stated.

“For us, this partnership is personal; when our players, visiting players or staff need care, the Trenton Memorial Hospital is our go to. We believe that a vibrant community requires a vibrant hospital, and it is a privilege to use our platform to ensure they have the resources necessary to continue their life-saving work. Year over year, this game is a win for the health and future of our entire community.”

The Foundation thanks the Golden Hawks, Christina Charbonneau, Quinte Custom Promo, the volunteers who gave their time, and the many community members who attended and donated.

Funds raised will directly support priority equipment and patient care needs at Trenton Memorial Hospital, helping ensure high-quality care remains close to home.
