Education Day invites community discussion in Belleville

The Quinte Coordinating Committee Against Violence is excited to announce this year’s Education Day, an opportunity for knowledge sharing and community discussion.

This full day event is on Friday, March 27th from 9am-4pm at The Grand (70 Harder Drive, Belleville).

This year, guest speakers from three different organizations will be discussing the realities, common practices, gaps, and changes in sexual assault cases in Ontario.

The speakers include Jessie Rodger, Executive Director from ANOVA Shelter and Services in London, Ontario; Kerri-Ann Kennedy, Crown Attorney from the Sexual Violence Advisory Group through the Ministry of the Attorney General; and Jessica Baker, the co-founder of Beyond the Verdict, an advocacy group for creating trauma-informed sexual assault court procedures.

The day ends with a panel of local Executive Directors from Three Oaks Foundation, Alternatives for Women, Victim Services HPELA, and the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District.

Tickets are open to the public, and all proceeds support the Quinte District Victims Fund.

Tickets include a catered lunch and can be purchased through the Eventbrite link.
