Journey to PJHL Schmaltz Cup begins Friday

The PJHL Playoffs are getting into full swing this weekend.

The third-seeded Napanee Raiders start their march to the Schmaltz Cup with Game 1 of a first round series versus the sixth-seeded Port Hope Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Best and Bash Arena.

The next night on Saturday, the Raiders head west to meet Port Hope at the Jack Burger Sports Complex at 7:30 p.m.

The remaining games have yet to be announced as of Friday afternoon.

Napanee finished 28 points ahead of Port Hope in the regular season.

The Frankford Huskies and Trent Hills Thunder do battle starting Saturday in Frankford at 7 p.m.

The second seeded Huskies went on a nine-game winning streak to close out the season and finish second in the Tod Division. They finished 43 points ahead of Trent Hills in the standings.

The Picton Pirates host the Amherstview Jets in Game 1 Saturday at 7:30 p.m., before the scene shifts east for two games Sunday and Wednesday.
The Jets have home ice advantage, finishing five points above Picton in the regular season standings.
