A local couple who are cornerstones of the business community will be honoured at a special event in Quinte West next month.
The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce will recognize Honorary Lifetime Membership recipients, Mike and Nickey Eden of Homestead Marketplace at its annual AGM and President’s Dinner on March 26 at Occasions by the Bay.
Of course, everyone in Quinte West knows the Edens through their flagship business Leon’s and the amazing Homestead Marketplace development that has been built around and next to it.
I can’t think of anyone who has had a bigger impact on local employment, tourism and creating a positive legacy in our entire region than the Eden’s.
Homestead Marketplace was a visionary project providing a dozen locations to shop, eat, play and learn while trying to engage with and support the local community in countless ways.
Just last week, they held a special event to launch Curley’s Fries and Ice Cream at the former BeaverTails location on site.
The goal was simple, as Mike Eden himself said. “It’s about celebrating the people and small businesses that make this region special. We’re proud to partner with amazing local
producers like Reid’s Dairy, Rachel’s Tarts, and Maple Dale Cheese.”
That’s what the Eden’s do. They build, they network, they support and they give.
There is still time to contact the Quinte West Chamber to get tickets for the event on the 26th. The venue will certainly be packed, as the community they love warmly returns that affection and overwhelming support.
I’m Paul Martin and that’s what I see looking Beyond the Headlines.
