Hydro One trucks have been seen across the Belleville area this evening, in preparation for a large planned power outage.
The planned power outage, that was originally scheduled for October 17th, will take place overnight.
Over 10,000 Hydro One customers will see the power go out from 10 p.m. until Thursday at 5 a.m. The work is all linked to maintenance and hydro pole replacement.
The outage area is hidden on the Hydro One Outage Map. Users have to select Future Outages and scroll in closer to the Quinte area for the full outage area to appear.
A screenshot can be found below.
The outage will cover north of Highway 401 from as far east as Frankford, and Batawa, to just before Ivanhoe in the north. The outage will impact Tyendinaga Township, Roslin, and the north-east area of Belleville.
While the Hydro One map shows a large portion of the north-east area of Belleville will be impacted, Elexicon Energy has listed separately that the impacted areas will be on North Park Street.
Those closer to the shores of the Bay of Quinte, along Highway 2 from Quinte West to most of Belleville, will not be impacted.
A growing number of residents in Quinte are sharing with InQuinte.ca. and posting on social media, that some have received notifications about the outage from Hydro One directly, while others have not.
Elexicon Energy, which formally services Belleville, has shared the outage message on its website. Adding that a small number of residents in Belleville who will be impacted, have been notified.
