The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville is continuing its commitment to keeping children safe by offering two upcoming Car Seat Safety Clinics, providing local families with free, one-on-one guidance from a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician from the Ministry of Transportation.
Following the success of its Car Seat Safety education program this summer, the Children’s Safety Village is taking the next step in helping parents and caregivers ensure their children are travelling safely.
Understanding car seat safety is important, but knowing how to properly install and adjust a car seat in your own vehicle can raise additional questions. These hands-on clinics will give caregivers the opportunity to receive personalized assistance, ask questions and gain confidence in using their child’s car seat correctly.
The clinics will take place on:
-
Monday, October 26, 2026 | 1:00–3:00 p.m.
-
Monday, November 9, 2026 | 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Location: Children’s Safety Village of Belleville, 129 South John Street, Belleville.
During each 30-minute appointment, families will have the opportunity to work directly with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician who can provide:
-
Hands-on car seat installation assistance
-
Individual car seat safety inspections
-
Guidance on proper harness positioning and fit
-
Information about car seat safety guidelines and transitioning between car seat stages
-
Answers to specific questions about their child’s car seat and vehicle
“Car seat safety is an important part of preventing injuries and protecting children in our community,” said Rachelle Baldock, Executive Director of the Children’s Safety Village of Belleville. “We want parents and caregivers to feel confident that they are using their car seats correctly. These clinics provide an opportunity for families to receive hands-on support, ask questions and learn practical skills that can make a difference in keeping their children safe.”
All families are welcome to participate, and attendance at the previous Car Seat Safety education program is not required.
Registration is mandatory, with only four 30-minute appointments available on each clinic date. Families must bring their vehicle and the car seat they would like inspected.
Each car seat requires its own 30-minute appointment. Families with multiple car seats are encouraged to book consecutive appointments, subject to availability.
Registration is free, but spaces are limited.
