Mayor Jim Harrison was in his element praising Quinte West staff for a job well done…while sharing a few laughs.
A handful of staff were present at Wednesday’s Council meeting to receive their Long Service Awards. A total of 54 staff members are being recognized this year for career milestones from five years to up to 45 years of service.
Four members of Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services received recognition for 10, 15, and 20 years of service, respectively.
Caleb Denouden, Director of Finance and City Treasurer, and Colleen Vickers, Special Events Coordinator, both received awards for 15 years of service.
“This year’s Long Service Awards are especially meaningful to me, as this will be my final time presenting them as Mayor. Over my 30 years in public office, I have had the privilege of recognizing staff members who work tirelessly to serve our community. Congratulations to everyone receiving a Long Service Award this year, and thank you for your many years of service to our community,” said Mayor Jim Harrison, in a statement released after the Council meeting.
