Polls are open as people across the Quinte Region chose their municipal and school board representatives.
Polls close tonight at 8 pm.
Belleville turnout has so far been just over 25% (25.28%).
Turnout for municipal elections is usually lower than for Federal or Provincial elections, usually finishing in the 35-45% range for most municipalities.
Municipalities will (in most cases) be posting the results to their individual websites or social media pages fairly shortly after the polls close.
Most are anticipating knowing the results (which will still need to be certified to be final) between 8:30 and 9 pm.
Belleville also issued the following information.
The results of today’s municipal election will be posted to the City’s website once they are available following the close of voting.
A reminder that voting can be done online, by phone or at the Voting Assistance Centres at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Rd.) or Gerry Masterson Thurlow Community Centre (516 Harmony Rd.) from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Results will be posted after 8:30 p.m. at: https://www.belleville.ca/results.
