Heavy rain is being anticipated in the Quinte region Monday evening, resulting in the issuing of a special weather statement.
Environment Canada says there is expected to be showers and embedded thunderstorms, with local rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm, possibly exceeding 40 mm in some areas.
The rain is expected to stop Tuesday morning.
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas, so drivers and pedestrians are urged to avoid those areas.
