Members of the Northumberland OPP have charged an individual in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Brighton.
Last Thursday, police received a number of complaints regarding incidents that occurred at a business on Young Street from May 28 to August 12 of this year.
The Northumberland Crime Unit continued the investigation and, as a result, an individual was taken into custody on Monday.
Jalil Ahmed, 53, of Cobourg has been charged with sexual assault and two counts of voyeurism.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September 2026.
