Prince Edward County is trying to play a bit of catchup on its building numbers this year.
The monthly building report for July released by the County Wednesday shows 46 permits issued at a construction value of more than $6.5 million.
That’s significantly lower than the 69 permits issued at a value of around $12 million in July 2025.
Six of last month’s permits were for new housing units, while 11 of the permits issued were used for new residential units.
Through the first seven months of 2026, the County has registered 305 permits issued at a value of roughly $82 million, beneath the 362 permits issued with a value of $71.7 million in 2025.
