The Ken Bonisteel Memorial Golf Tournament has officially raised a cumulative total of $50,015 for the Belleville General Hospital Oncology Department, with the 2026 event contributing $10,950 toward the milestone.
This year’s tournament was held at the Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club, continuing an annual tradition that began in memory of Ken Bonisteel and has provided ongoing support for local cancer care.
The tournament was inspired by one of the family’s final conversations with Ken before he passed away in December 2018. During that conversation, Ken suggested that a golf tournament would be a fitting way for family and friends to remember him. Whether he envisioned it happening once or becoming an annual tradition is something the family still jokes about, but eight tournaments later, the event has now raised more than $50,000 for local cancer care.
“I love doing it because it’s an amazing way to keep Dad’s memory alive while raising money for a great cause and bringing our family and friends together,” said Ken’s son, Jason Bonisteel. “The support we continue to get every year means a lot to our family.”
Monument Group, the 2026 Title Sponsor, played an important role in this year’s event through their generous support, along with the many sponsors, golfers, donors and volunteers who helped make the tournament another success.
Following another successful event, the 9th annual Ken Bonisteel Memorial Golf Tournament has officially been scheduled for August 21, 2027.
