Belleville Police made an arrest early Friday morning following a collision in the city.
Around 5:30 a.m., officer responded to the area of Bridge Street East and Church Street regarding a two-vehicle collision. It was reported that a vehicle had struck another vehicle in the intersection. Officers spoke to the involved parties and conducted an investigation. While speaking with the at-fault driver, officers observed signs of impairment
As a result of the investigation, Brandon Curtis, a 27-year-old Deseronto man, was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg
He was released on an appearance notice with a court date in October.
No serious injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Later on Friday, after 6 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a disturbance in the city’s east end, where a dispute between neighbours had reportedly escalated from a verbal confrontation into a physical altercation.
Police learned that a male had approached another individual outside a residence and initiated a verbal argument.
The male began pushing the other individual and repeatedly attempted to escalate the situation by blocking him from leaving and continuing the physical confrontation.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties and observed that the male was extremely intoxicated. Police advised the parties to separate; however, the male continued to be disruptive and indicated he intended to continue his behaviour. As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged under the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA) with being intoxicated in a public place. He was later released from police custody once sober.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants
On August 29, 2026, at 12:08 a.m., Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Moira Street West. As officers approached the vehicle, they observed a male passenger who was known to be wanted on outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrants for assault with a weapon, assault, failure to comply with a probation order X2, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief under $5000.
As a result, Michael Cornwall-Goddard, a 38-year-old Belleville man, was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrants and held for a bail hearing.
Threats
On August 29, 2026, at 4:50 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call for service in the city’s west end. It was reported that a male had contacted police dispatchers and made threats toward a female known to him.
Officers located the male and conducted an investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Breach of recognizance
He was held for a bail hearing.
